InterBeing musicians David Rothenberg and Ben Richter create an ecology of sound overlooking an estuarial marsh during their Beyond the Human sunset concert. What an enchanting way to celebrate the creativity of the Cosmos, our setting sun, and each other! Taking the DTN courses makes me appreciate the resonance of his concert description as sonic communion creating music with the Hudson River soundscape and its nonhuman beings. By tuning in to the life forms and geoforms around us, auralizing the vast and infinitesimal timescales we do not experience directly, we may better connect with the interdependent relationships of humans with the natural world and foster consciousness of our role in the universe. ...
