The most recent deaths of Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and the gruesome killing of George Floyd are continued evidence that there is a race issue in this country and in the heart of mankind.We, as followers of a God of love, denounce any form of racism. It is loud and clear that statements, words, and social media posts, however well-intentioned, are not enough. Actions are demanded, and actions are required for racial equity. Auburn Adventist Academy has stated some of the actions that we are taking to promote understanding, repentance and healing. We have decided to let our actions speak louder than our words. We are happy to invite you to participate in a virtual run/walk, Friday June 19, 2020. June 19th or Juneteenth is a celebrated day that memorializes the abolishment of slavery on June 19, 1865. It is a day of reflection, renewal and celebration. All proceeds from the event will be donated to a Christian organization called Be the Bridge, which helps educate communities and empower people and culture toward racial healing, equity, and reconciliation.
