Description:

Analysis of Chord Progression Networks was awarded the prize for Best Documentation at the HAMR hackathon, that was part of the ISMIR 2020 conference. We create a chord progression network using guitar chord tabs. By representing chords as nodes and transitions between chords as edges, we obtain a network suitable for the plethora of analysis methods that have been developed in the field of network science. We use the network to analyze communities, identify influential chords and compare differences between chord progressions across genre and decade. Finally, we apply stochastic walks to generate new chord progressions.The first online conference SPACE AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE, is taking place on September 4th, 2020. The conference is organized by CLAIRE and ESA, in association with ECAI2020, with Sašo Džeroski as the main organizer. Department members have authored and edited numerous scientific books, and chaired international conferences and workshops. We currently participate in around ten EU H2020 projects. Our technologies have been successfully applied to many practical problems, including earthquake prediction, selection of applicants for loans of the National Housing Fund, analysis of UK traffic accidents, medical diagnosis, analysis of the Slovenian public healthcare system, scientific digital editions of Slovene literature.
