The Office of Business Contracts and Brand Protection (BCBP) oversees business contracts for the Berkeley campus and provides guidance on trademarks and intellectual property. Contracting Guide A guide to creating, amending, executing and terminating contracts on the Berkeley campus Decision Support Tool Learn about the types of requests we process and what other offices might be involved Request Permission Request permission to use the University’s name, trademarks, logos, or landmark representations Report Misuse Report unauthorized use of the University's name or other trademarksThe Office of Business Contracts and Brand Protection (BCBP) has the delegated authority to execute a wide variety of business contracts on behalf of the Berkeley campus, to authorize appropriate uses of the campus’ name and trademarks, and to protect the brand and enforce compliance with law and University policies.BCBP cannot process agreements or contracts related to:Purchase of goods or services by the University;Research activities for federal, state and non-profit sponsored projects;Research activities with industry and material transfers; orConstruction-related activities; orGifts or DonationsThe contracting offices that have the authority to enter into these types of agreements on behalf of the University are:Supply Chain Management/Procurement;Sponsored Projects Office (SPO)Intellectual Property Industry Alliance Office (IPIRA)Capital StrategiesUniversity Development and Alumni Relations (UDAR)If you would like to see information relating to the Business Contracts processing, please go here.If you are looking for information regarding our Brand Protection activities, please go here.
