Personal sanitary wipes, baby wipes, paper towels, and the like do not easily break down like toilet paperand they do not travel through our sewer system the same way as toilet paper. They can get snagged easily on imperfections in the lines (like a small tree root or slight turn in the line) and literally the STUFF we want to get rid of starts piling up and is trapped, causing backups. Below is a link to all our permit forms that we are asking the public to print, fill out and return to City Hall. We have taken efforts to protect our staff from un-necessary exposures to the coronavirus and because of that our permitting process will take slightly more time for approval. Our permitting process has not changed and we are not offering waivers of the required permits. If a permit is needed, please either print off the forms which can be accessed through the link below, or use the drive-up window at City Hall and request the necessary form. Once the form is completed and signed by the applicant it can be returned to City Hall. Please make sure the necessary supplemental information is attached when submitted. The permits will be reviewed by our Building Inspector and if there are questions the inspector will contact the applicant. Once a permit is approved by the inspector, the applicant will be contacted with the amount that is due and when that is paid at City Hall an approved copy will be provided to the applicant. (Dogs and Cats)Dog and Cat Licenses2020 dog tags and cat tags are now available! All dogs and cats over the age of six months must be licensed. Proof of rabies, distemper, and parvo vaccine, showing date of vaccination and vaccination expiration dates, must be presented. Licenses are obtained at City Hall, 605 North Broadway, and cost $6.00. Licenses must be renewed annually before the end of May. A late fee applies for dog and cat license renewals after May 31st,June 30, 2020, as the date wasextended by Council action on May 28, 2020. (Fees for late renewal will be assessed after that date, as hasbeen the policy in the past).License fee for a newly acquired dog or cat is $6.00, regardless of the time of year, so please plan to license as soon as the rabies vaccination is administered.Animals (regardless of species) found running at large are subject to impoundment. Impound fee for a first offense is $15.00; the second offense is $30.00; the third offense is $45.00.All animalsare taken to the Green Acre Animal Clinic for impoundment and boarding fees, applicable based on length of stay,will be paid to this facility before release. Animals will not be released from impoundment without proof of rabies vaccination and current license.Ordinance No. 2305 was adopted by the Wahoo City Council on April 11, 2019. This Ordinance provides for licensing of both dogs and cats, as well as other language changes in that code section. Wahoo Ordinance now limits the number of household pets to three (3) of any single species of animal, and a combined total limit of household pets to eight (8) over the age of six months.
