If you are interested in serving on the Investor Advisory Committee, says the SEC on the IAC webpage, please email a letter of interest with applicable information about your relevant experience here. Until recently, each commissioner essentially named some IAC members. Now, SEC staff is making recommendations to the commission, and members are appointed by all commissioners through a consensus process.Amy Borrus Will Become CII s Executive Director July 1; Glenn Davis Named Deputy DirectorCII on June 4announced that Amy Borrus, currently CII s deputy director, will become executive director on July 1. CII s Board of Directors announced last fall that she would succeed Ken Bertsch, who is retiring. Bertsch, who joined CII as executive director in March 2016, will serve as special advisor until he retires on August 5. Glenn Davis, CII s director of research, will succeed Borrus as deputy director of CII. Davis joined CII as senior research associate in 2010 and was promoted to director of research two years later. He has served as staff liaison to the board s Policies Committee, which develops CII s positions on corporate governance and other investment-related issues.CII Urges World Economic Forum to Embrace Independent ESG Standard SettingThe World Economic Forum (WEF) recently concluded a public consultation on a new sustainability disclosure framework that the industry trade group would create, that draws on metrics and disclosures used by a broad range of existing frameworks. The WEF advocates a set of universal standards for all public companies, regardless of industry. CII s response expressed caution, and favored sustainability reporting standards set by independent third parties, similar to the model for financial reporting that has existed for decade. We believe the movement toward standardized corporate disclosure on ESG matters would benefit from fewer new initiatives and more participation in the development of standards undertaken by the most prominent independent standard setters, CII said.
