Empowering young people since 2005WhizzKids United (WKU) is a community-based non-profit working to provide health, educational and empowerment services to disadvantaged youth in both Pietermaritzburg, South Africa and Tamale, Ghana. WKU has been a leader in providing young people sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) including HIV prevention, treatment, and support since its inception in 2005. How it works As part of our efforts to promote health seeking behaviour amongst youth, WKU provides over 30 educational and empowerment programmes – many of which use football to ensure dynamic, and goal-orientated learning environments.By equipping youth with life-skills through football as well as linking them with WKU youth-friendly ‘WKU Health Academies’ we help disadvantaged youth reach their full potential.
