I have never been to China before I decided to do an internship with Hutong School. The support I got from the staff was exceptional, and they made sure I never felt lost or alone in Shanghai. I learned more in my five weeks in Shanghai than I had learnt two years studying at home.   Hutong School is the backbone that makes your experience just that bit easier. The quality of the Chinese classes is good, the cultural activities are interesting and good for binding with new people. What makes Hutong School so great is probably the staff. Every staff member is a capable, friendly, happy person that you can bother about everyth... Coming from the USA, I was extremely scared and cautious when looking into internships in China. Finding Hutong School was truly a blessing. Not only did they care for my every need, but they opened my eyes to a new world while still allowing me to feel safe and comfortable. There is no possible way I could have done it without them!   Hutong School gave me the opportunity to combine my internship in Shanghai together with studying Mandarin in the evenings. Classes are small (4 people), which means the teacher has the ability to give special attention to each individual and you practice a lot. Plus, cultural activities and trips gave me the chance to travel!   From arriving in Shanghai with no real clue what to expect, I left with a much broader sense of how Chinese culture and business operates in the modern world. I'm especially thankful to all those I worked alongside for contributing to my enrichment as well as the teaching staff who offered a fun, lively and interactive learning environment!  ... China is a fascinating country, it is full of opportunities and Hutong School helped me to explore them. The Chinese lessons in the morning, right before my internship, were a great help because I felt more confident when I had to talk to people. Hutong School is always there when you need them!   My time in Beijing with Hutong School was incredible! The staff are extremly helpful and friendly! The whole team made my stay very easy - starting from airport pick-up, accommodation, registration and public transport card. The teaching hours were flexible and matched perfectly my working hours.To sum it up: a great experience!   I couldn't expect to have such a great and profitable experience. My job training was very helpful to accumulate new skills and to have a real viewpoint of a future occupation.   Starting from my initial email contact, the customer service was exceptional. I received excellent information and support before, during and after my classes. The instructors are skillfull and experienced both at teaching Chinese and adjusting to student and class needs. Studying and working in China were the differentiating factors on my resume that lead me to the amazing job I have now, and it wouldn’t have been possible without H... I’ve joined the Hutong School in Beijing and Shanghai two times already – and every time it was a great and wonderful experience. The accommodation is quite okay. The people at the Hutong School are very nice and helpful in every way. The teachers are very motivated and well prepared. And the School offers a lot of fun free-time activities.... What separates Hutong School from all the other schools is the staff: everyone is nice, welcoming and engaged. The classes are very involved, and the group environment serves well for practicing speaking. After a few months, I was speaking Chinese well enough to be hired in a full time management position in Shanghai.   Hutong School set me up with a nice flat in the centre of Beijing, taught me loads during class and led interesting cultural activities after class. The greatest thing was the flexibility to determine your own experience while also being provided the opportunity to experience as much as possible at every turn.   I particularly appreciated the dedication and patience of the teachers (I'm more than 70 years old, it was not so easy to get vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation into my old brain) and the time the administratives spent to help us for accommodation, planning, etc. Hutong School "boosted" me to pass HSK 3 at 74 years old!   The staff at Hutong School were incredibly helpful and flexible in organising my study schedule. I took some one-on-one classes as well as the group lessons and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.
