Science That Cures We re on a mission to save lives and wipe out cancer and related diseases worldwide. Our Research Fuel Lifesaving Research Donors accelerate our research in disease prevention, treatment and cures. Ways to Give Clinical Trials Studies Help us break new ground in clinical care. Enroll in a trial or study today. Find a Trial Bone Marrow Transplants Globally This lifesaving advance — and many others — are possible because of Fred Hutch’s pioneering science. Cures Start Here Nobel Prize Winners Researchers from Fred Hutch have been honored with the Nobel Prize in physiology or medicine. Our Scientific Excellence Countries Where We Do Research Our science takes place around the world and has an impact on people everywhere. Global Health Projects Clinical Trials and Studies Patient participation is critical to our research, helping uncover new ways to prevent, detect and treat disease. Make an Appointment An Update on Our Efforts to Change Through dialogue sessions about racism over the last two weeks, the Fred Hutch community has spent time listening, sharing and understanding the social realities that are shaping our work, our workplace climate and the broader community. While our efforts to address these realities are ongoing, based on what we heard, we are taking action now to promote change at our organization and in the community — and end racial injustice. Scientists ponder human challenge trials for COVID-19 vaccines Thousands offer to be infected with live virus to speed vaccine development June 18, 2020 Pudgy middle age: Does a little fat have an upside? Yeast studies of cellular aging suggest that middle-aged flab could help protect against stress June 9, 2020 Building genetic diversity into cancer research NCI awards Fred Hutch $3.5M to create a colorectal cancer risk calculator based on data from multiethnic populations June 18, 2020 New open source software empowers scientists to uncover immune secrets 'Infinity Flow’ adds machine learning to widespread, but limited, technology for analyzing single cells June 19, 2020 Bone marrow transplantation can cure leukemia and other blood disorders, but it can come with significant risks. Physician-scientist Dr. Stephanie Lee is making transplantation safer with her research on chronic graft-vs.-host-disease, a common side effect of transplant. Dr. Lee is also associate director of the Hutch’s Clinical Research Division, directs its Long-Term Follow Up Research Program, and becomes president of the American Society of Hematology in December 2019.  Defeating cancer is like assembling an exceedingly tricky jigsaw puzzle. We may have some ideas about the big picture, but we're left with a jumble of interior pieces to match up. Fortunately, Dr. Phil Greenberg likes puzzles. Greenberg and his colleagues focus on one major portion of this puzzle: the function of disease-fighting immune cells called T cells. He has become a world expert in discovering how T cells can be manipulated to treat a range of cancers. Fuel COVID-19 Research We're part of a global scientific community racing to curb the threat of COVID-19. Your gift will accelerate our research. Fred Hutch is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA) Employer. We are committed to cultivating a workplace in which diverse perspectives and experiences are welcomed and respected. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, creed, ancestry, national origin, sex, age, disability (physical or mental), marital or veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, political ideology, or membership in any other legally protected class. We are an Affirmative Action employer. We encourage individuals with diverse backgrounds to apply and desire priority referrals of protected veterans. Read the EEO is the Law poster here.
