I am Booted Harleydude (aka BHD ). Welcome to my personal website and my blog. I am just your average guy-next-door who was married to the love-of-his-life and lived our marriage vows until my husband's untimely death in January 2021.I enjoy boots, leather, and serving my community as a volunteer. I live in the Maryland 'burbs north and west of of Washington, D.C., USA.I have ridden motorcycles since 1978. That explains the large motorcycle boot collection and variety of functional motorcycle gear that I wear when riding my Harley-Davidson Softail Slim motorcycle, and share information about. Boots and leather are an avocation, but aren't all who I am. While I am now retired from full-time work, I continue to serve as a volunteer community leader, and pull on my work boots to help out elderly family, friends, and neighbors.I am a cowboy at heart. I have ridden horses since I was a kid and iron horses since college. I owned and rode horses in amateur rodeos and around the hills of Southeastern Oklahoma in the past. That explains the large cowboy boot collection. I wore dress boots with dress clothes to work, and nowadays only wear them on dress-up occasions. I wear boots as my choice of daily footwear when I go out. I have an extensive list of boot reviews on my boot wiki knowledgebase.
