The official Ministry of Health contact tracing app helps you keep a digital diary of the places you ve been.Open up the Google Play Store or the Apple App store, type in NZ COVID Tracer and tap install.When you first open the app, you will need to sign up.Tap sign up to get started.Read the privacy statement.It covers where your information is stored, when it can be used and how long it is stored for.For a more detailed version, tap the View Privacy and Security Statement at the bottom of the page.Otherwise tap, OK.Next, you ll need to enter your email address and create a password.These will be your login details. Tap next to move onto the next screen.A 6-digit code will be sent to the email address you used to log in.Enter the 6-digit code here tap Next when you re ready.You can now choose to fill in your contact details and other information in case a contact tracer ever needs to contact you.Tap next step to save these details. You can also skip this part by tapping next step without entering any details.Your registration is now complete! Tap Get started to start scanning.You can now use NZ COVID Tracer to keep a digital diary of where you have been.To use it, simply open NZ COVID Tracer wherever you see an official NZ COVID Tracer poster.The official posters have NZ COVID Tracer written above the QR codeand the Ministry of Health logo on the bottom right-hand corner.NZ COVID Tracer will not work with an unofficial QR code poster.Make sure you look for the official NZ COVID Tracer poster.Tap Scan and point your phone at the poster.NZ COVID Tracer will recognize the QR code automaticallyWhen the scan is successful, a green tick will appear to let you know your visit has now been recorded on your phone.
