Description:

A new dimension in TIVA-TCI: total intravenous anaesthesia with target controlled infusion Following the release of the Project Orcadian report (2004), the SALG (Safety Anaesthesia Liason Group) report (2009) and our discussions with leading Anaesthetists worldwide, we have placed a massive emphasis on the overall safety of our TIVA-TCI products. When you see our TIVA-TCI sets you will immediately recognise the improvements over 'industry standard' sets that are currently available. We will be delighted to let you clinically evaluate our sets, present these at your anaesthetic audit meetings, lunchtime and coffee morning meetings. Just let us know. Orders: +44(0)1276 679394 sales@global-medical.co.ukTestimonials from keen and expert 'vapour free' TIVA-TCI enthusiasts: The integrity of the cannula is, in my opinion, as important as of the airway itself. LineLokTM adjustable line fixation device that comes as standard with these high-quality sets is a very secure way of protecting the cannula from detaching. There are several other important safety benefits which should be welcomed such as always having a high-flow volumetric facility, complete protection from distal kinking of the line, drug identification tags to ensure syringe contents match the identified line and i-Loks to protect the eyes during surgery without subsequent trauma. The tac on/of the adhesive is vastly superior to that on our standard cannula dressings, by a country mile. The facility to adjust the position of the line lock from the wrist to the armpit(!) cannot be understated! The antikink guard will no doubt become an industry standard, I am certain. Committee Member SIVA (Society for Intravenous Anaesthesia) --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The new GCM multiple infusion lines integrate usability, functionality and above all safety, into their product, resulting in a new breed of delivery systems. Excellent features such as Non-Kink high-spec tubing and secure skin fixation (LineLoK tm) come as standard. In addition the eye closure system (i-LoK tm) and internationally colour coded drug labels included within the set, make this product stand alone from it's rivals . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall your MRI product is much superior to joining lengths of single lumen catheters together . --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I really like the sets, clearly pieces of kit designed with the end-user in mind. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------The GCM-253 3-Way TIVA Multiple Infusion set Testimonials from keen and expert 'vapour free' TIVA-TCI enthusiasts: The GCM range of TIVA infusion sets incorporate all the required aspects of safety compliance [SALG] with useful innovative features such as the fully kink prevention bend and terrific LineLok fixation device. Dead space and the risk of inadvertent disconnection or leaking has been minimised. The problem of inadvertent occlusion has been virtually eliminated. The valves are excellent and the cannula/syringe connections are positive. Having used a wide variety of TIVA set-ups over the last 25 years, it is very reassuring that a range is now commercially available that ticks all the right boxes at a reasonable price. Also the inclusion of i-Lok into the TIVA set packs is an excellent idea and reduces damage to delicate eye-tissue on removal. The company's (GCM) attention to detail is further demonstrated by the inclusion of innovative, colour coded (AAGBI guidelines) drug identification tags to ensure syringe contents match those of the line. Dr David Coates MB BS LRCP MRCS FRCAConsultant Anaesthetist Past President SIVA UKUniversity Hospitals BristolUK--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My comment on the GCM safety sets is from my view as a patient safety advisor and advocate. It is so encouraging to see that equipment design improvements such as the GCM Safety TIVA Multiple-Infusion Sets, can be influenced by reporting safety incidents and the professional responses (e.g SALG), to support clinicians and share learning to reduce recurrence. This should further inform the importance of incident reporting as a means to contribute to improving patient safety. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I had the pleasure of using the TIVA/TCI sets by your company. Nearly 80% of my practice is done by TCI technique. For this reason I am particularly set on safety while using this preferred technique and employ all means possible to achieve the best results for my patients. The sets are of a particularly high quality. The connections fit onto cannulas and administration sets securely. The lines are resistant to kinking and I do like to have high flow capabilities as well. The one way valves are a unmissable part of any design. The supplied securing adhesive is unique and does add greatly to the safely aspect of administering TIVA/TCI. These attributes are not only great for the use during TIVA but make these sets a excellent choice for administering two or more infusions of any sort to a patient, e.g. Vasoactive drugs. They enable the practitioner to make use of a single port on a CVC for this, freeing up additional ports for other uses. Thank you so much for the opportunity to have sampled this product and I do eagerly await the approval of these sets, so we can freely use them in the hospitals where we work.I have a particular bug bear with the phenomenon of parties not concerned with the end-use of products, deciding of what is acceptable for use. By the end of the day, its the anaesthesiologist who needs to take responsibility for patient safety and thus, the choice of which drug/product/technology to use must remain with us. Personally I feel there is way too many additional, and at times irrelevant, role players in the process. And this results in too many products being "forced" upon the end-user and eventually the patients we care for. And yes, I fully agree we must aim to practice evidence based medicine. This is not always possible, simply because it is not ethically or practically possible to conduct some studies and acquire the data. Then we simply have to rely on our best clinical judgement or common sense. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Wow, what a great idea! This will save a lot of IV's from being pulled out. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Safety where children are concerned is of the utmost importance. It is right to look at this segment of the population with regard to the GCM Safety Multiple-Infusion Sets.&rdquo Peter Cohen Commissioning Director, NICE (National Institute for Clinical Excellence)--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Download your free bravery certificates, designed for children that underwent TIVA-TCI.View and download your BRAVERY CERTIFICATES
