Meet Dr. Wendy Belluomini, VP and Lab Director, IBM Research Learn more Meet Dr. Wendy Belluomini, VP and Lab Director, IBM Research Learn more Dr. Wendy Belluomini Wendy is the VP & Director of IBM Almaden Research Center in San Jose, CA and she leads the global research team on Future of Work. Her team has been deeply involved in IBM's COVID-19 response, both from a work and health perspective. Previously, she served as Director of IBM Research - Ireland where she led work in AI for IoT, healthcare, and security and privacy. While in this role, she led the development of IBM's global technology strategy for new privacy-preserving technologies. She also served as IBM's strategist for brain-inspired computing where she led the commercialization strategy for IBM's brain inspired computing hardware and ecosystem. In this role, she developed the first commercial uses of brain inspired computing hardware. Prior to that, she led a research team in enterprise storage systems which created technologies to improve the reliability and performance of IBM's enterprise storage products, including the first deployment of commodity flash memory in an enterprise storage system. She has also held several key technical roles in IBM Research in the areas of microprocessor architecture and design, EDA tools, and formal verification. Wendy is the co-author of more than 47 patents and has published extensively in technical conferences and journals. She has an undergraduate degree from the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, CA and a Ph.D. from the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, UT.
