What do you think?Comments (18)So, about the downtimePosted by : Vexorian ; 02-17-2013 at 09:48 PM Hello all, I have some terrible news.Well, as you may have noticed if your wc3c activity is often enough, the site was having some db issues since about last week. I tried to fix them a bit last week and they seemed to work but the fix was only temporary. On Thursday, I noticed some strange issues with the home page script. It turns out that there were whole issues with the resource section caused by database issues. The situation became much worse as the hours passed until the database server's hard drive finally gave in...As the database server is beyond our control, I contacted Tim, remember Tim? Then he contacted the owner of the server. And here are the bad news, which you could have already noticed. The only backup available was from 1 year ago. I am very sorry about this. It seems that until a year ago backups happened weekly, but it stopped happening. We were promised this won't happen again, but of course we lost one year of wc3c activity. Which is equivalent to around 2 weeks of a real web site's activity, which is still very bad.Sorry guys.----Anyway, if you changed your password within the last year, you will probably need to remember and use the old one. Also if you still have any confidence and hope in the site, it would be a good idea to update whatever resource / map you submitted. If it was a script, we can probably use google cache to recover things up. But the time coming is not going to be fun nevertheless.-------Edit: All the attachments uploaded last year might be recoverable, so if you cannot find an attachment, but have a way to remember the attachment id (or even if you don't), then we can try to look for it (No guarantees), reply here or something in that case.Comments (41)Wc3c chat back onlinePosted by : Anitarf ; 10-05-2011 at 11:58 PM Those of you who have been paying attention already know that we've had chat channels set up on a new server for a while now, but the site's chat client was not yet configured to work with them. Now that that has been done as well, you can join our chatroom using the chat link on the bar at the top of the forums. Tropical Tag adds many new dynamics not found in any other tags and eliminates a plethora of problems found in almost all others. This map has been worked on extensively by a number of people since November 2005. Tropical Tag is a variation of Sheep Tag where the basic hunters kill prey concept is maintained. The improvements exist in the variety of things that the Fish and Naga are able to do or build. The different environments, game modes, and reduction of gameplay mechanic abuse makes Tropical Tag more complex then Sheep Tag and allows it to keep its lasting appeal. And you thought WC3 mapmaking was dead. Well, our motto is You can't kill the undead! and we have another zombie project shuffling around to prove it: after nearly two years, Tropical Tag has received another update. They were a bug with the server hosting our database. I contacted Tim about it and it seems it all got fixed. Hopefully, things will go back to normal, but do not be shocked if it happens again. Believe it or not. We are paying attention to things. But in situations like this all I can do is really contact Tim and close the site until the db server stops panicking.Comments (19)Starcraft 2 Campaigns – Official LaunchPosted by : Tim. ; 07-14-2010 at 01:52 AM After a very, very long wait Starcraft II is finally near an actual launch. As such, it is time to begin our next endeavor: Sarcraft 2 Campaigns! A few days ago Vexorian silently rolled out a new forum located at Sc2C.org (Big thanks to Deaod for donating his domain to the cause!) This is an official sister site to Wc3C and is hosted and run by us. The site is still new and fresh, so expect changes and bumps along the road. I just wanted to give the official announcement myself in order to give a big thanks to Vexorian who has been working very hard to bring this new life to our modding community.As for the fate of Wc3C? We see no reason to close or give up the site at this time. This launch should not worry anyone as to the future of Wc3C, however I do encourage those of you who are active members to give Sc2 modding a shot. I m sure there is a lot in store for us in the months to come.
