Due to the ongoing situation with the Covid19 virus HOPEWELL MINE TOURS ARE TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE SEASON This decision has been made in the best interest of all, health and safety being a guiding principle of Hopewell Colliery. We all look forward to meeting with you sometime in the future and will post here when we have news on when we will reopen. HOWEVER WE ARE PLEASED TO INFORM YOU THAT THE HOPEWELL COLLIERY CAFE REMAINS OPEN When we reopen, Hopewell will welcome school and group visits. Our underground tour can provide a good link to school curriculum topics and will be interesting and informative for specialist groups such as geology, history, etc. General interest groups are also welcome. Discounts available, email or phone 01594 810706(out of hours 07717 750689)for details. We are closed for tours during the Covid emergency and will post here when we know our re-opening date. NOTE THAT THE CAFE AND SHOP ARE STILL OPEN. Note: the tour is not suitable for very young children Last tour leaves approx 3.00pm Large free car park Free admission to cafeteria, shop, surface museum and picnic areas. There is limited wheelchair access. Unfortunately the mine is not suitable for those with limited mobility.
