For the summer of 2020, the Cullen College of Engineering had seven students selected for the Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship program. The SURF program is open to sophomores, juniors and seniors that will be not be graduating in the year of the fellowship. A 3.0 GPA is required for full-time students, and only University of Houston main campus students are eligible. Seven from Cullen College of Engineering Surge into SURF Program Several members of the Cullen College of Engineering have been recognized via the Office of the Provost's 2020 Faculty and Staff Awards, headlined by Dr. Richard Willson of Biochemical Biophysical Sciences earning the Esther Farfel Award, the highest honor given yearly. Willson earns Esther Farfel Award; four others tabbed for faculty, staff honors The research of University of Houston assistant professor Dr. Rose Faghih has been recognized by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers' Women in Engineering Magazine, with a feature in its June issue.The article, “Women to Watch – The New Face of Engineering: Faghih Is Applying Her Research to Make an Impact on People's Lives,” is available on the IEEE Xplore website. Faghih featured in IEEE publication as Woman to Watch Dilranjan Wickramasuriya and Hamid Fekri Azgomi, doctoral students of Rose Faghih, assistant professor of electrical engineering at the UH Cullen College of Engineering, made several presentations at two different IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) conferences in November. UH Engineering State-Space Estimation Course Projects Presented At Two IEEE Conferences The American Society of Indian Engineers and Architects (ASIE) awarded seven of their 22 engineering scholarships this year to students attending the UH Cullen College of Engineering.
