What's Happening New Service Request items for no-contact pickup Graduate students Margaret McLaughlin and Malachai Darling are among those leading research consultations virtually for IU Libraries. They’ve both worked with IU Libraries since Fall 2018. Margaret also works with the Scholarly Communications department while Malachai works at the Business/SPEA Information Commons in addition to his position as a Research Assistant.  Margaret and Malachai are part of the team offering one-on-one zoom consults to undergraduate students who need help finding sources or researching topics for papers.  Preparation pays off: IU Libraries offers expanded access to HathiTrust Digital Library A scenario where students and faculty can't pull books, videos, film and other items from the shelves of Indiana University's libraries and repositories is one that university leaders have invested decades of preparation in. A pandemic is just one catalyst for mobilizing emergency access preservation plans. And the HathiTrust Emergency Temporary Access Service is a new response to a long-considered need. Fashion design students researched, designed, and created sustainable Hoosier-themed spirit wear inspired by historic IU-themed apparel from the IU Libraries University Archives and the Sage Collection.“Fashion design is very tactile, the structures and volumes are very hard to see in images. Here, they can see all the details.
