The LASSO Center is dedicated to helping all OSU students succeed as they transition into college and throughout their college experience. Our staff works to empower students to take an active role in their learning experience by fostering the development of critical thinking, active learning and increased self-awareness through collaborative partnerships with LASSO Tutors, Academic Success Coaches and Supplemental Instruction Leaders. The LASSO Center offers one-on-one tutoring to any student on campus needing assistance. Qualified tutors meet GPA course content standards and complete LASSO's nationally certified tutor training. LASSO Tutoring Supplemental Instruction (SI) is a peer-led studying opportunity for students enrolled in historically challenging and gateway courses. SI sessions are held outside of class where SI leaders facilitate discussions and study activities that allow students to prepare for exams, clarify questions and master course materials by working together in a cooperative learning environment. Supplemental Instruction Academic Success Coaching allows students the opportunity to work with a non-judgmental partner to identify the most effective ways to be successful in college and in life. Academic Success Coaching The LASSO Campus Resource Guide connects you to the resources you need in the quickest, most effective manner possible.Built on feedback from current OSU students, the App links you to the services most requested in categories thatstudents have selected to be the most relevant totheir daily needs. With innovative design directly connecting you to appointment links, direct phone dialers, web sites, walking directions, and even campus dining menus, as an OSU student, you will have everything you need right in the palm of your hand to maximize your own personal success.
