It was with great sadness that we learned of the death yesterday, Sunday 1st November 2020, of Mrs Ann Maher (née Maher), Rossestown, Thurles, Co. Tipperary.Predeceased by her husband Paddy; Mrs Maher passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Her passing is most deeply regretted by her son Michael; daughters Tina, Elaine and Siobhan; grandchildren Natalie, Robert, James, Ciara, Ailish, Tara, Liam and Saoirse; great-grandchild Ciarán; daughter-in-law Julie; sons-in-law Joe, David and James; brothers; sisters; nephews; nieces; brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; extended relatives; neighbours and many friends.The funeral cortège of Mrs Maher will depart her residence on tomorrow morning, Tuesday, 3rd November, at 10.15am, to be received into the Cathedral of the Assumption, Cathedral Street, Thurles, for Requiem Mass at 11:00am.[Note: Due to national Public Health Guidelines regarding Covid-19 virus restrictions; attendance within the Cathedral building will be limited to 25 persons only, with strict adherence to social distancing and face covering please.] Interment will take place immediately afterwards in St. Patrick s Cemetery, Moyne Road, Thurles, Co. Tipperary. For the many persons who would have liked to have attended Requiem Mass for Mrs Maher, but will be unable to do so, due to coronavirus restrictions, same funeral service can be viewed online HERE. Tipperary, late yesterday. This arrest and seizure formed part of an ongoing operation that has been successfully targeting the sale and supply of drugs throughout Co. Tipperary.Shortly after 10:00pm last night, Gardaí from the Tipperary District supported by uniform and armed Gardaí from the Southern Region, carried out a search of a field in the Kilcommon area near Thurles.During the course of this intelligence led search, Gardaí seized €647,500 of suspected cocaine and approximately €370,000 in cash.
