Paulraj is a Professor Emeritus in the Department of Electrical Engineering at Stanford University. During his 30 years in the Indian (Navy) (1961-1991), he founded three national level laboratories in India and headed one of India’s most successful military R D projects APSOH sonar. He received over a dozen awards in India including the Padma Bhushan. In 1999, Paulraj founded Iospan Wireless Inc - which developed and established MIMOOFDMA wireless as the core 4G technology. Iospan was acquired in by Intel Corporation in 2003. In 2004, Paulraj co-founded Beceem Communications Inc. The company became the market leader in 4G-WiMAX semiconductor and was acquired by Broadcom Corp. in 2010. Paulraj has won over a dozen awards in the US, notably the 2011 IEEE Alexander Graham Bell Medal and the 2014 Marconi Prize and Fellowship, both top awards for telecommunications technology pioneers. He is a fellow of eight national engineering/ science academies including those in the US, China, India and Sweden. He is a fellow of IEEE and AAAS. Paulraj is an ISI Thomson most highly cited researcher with two textbooks on MIMO. PhD: 1993 Kiran Bedi is the Lieutenant Governor of Pondicherry, India. She is the first woman to join the Indian Police Service (IPS). She worked with the United Nations in New York as the Police Advisor to the Secretary General and in the Department of Peace Keeping Operations. In 1994, she was awarded the Ramon Magsaysay Award and the Nehru Fellowship. A nonfiction feature film on her life entitled Yes, Madam Sir has been produced by Megan Doneman. The film was adjudged the “Best Documentary” at Santa Barbara International Film Festival. B.Tech: 1968 Y.C. Deveshwar is the Chairman of ITC. He is a former Chairman and Managing Director of Air India. Harvard Business Review ranked him as the 7th Best Performing CEO in the world. He has been honoured with the Global Leadership Award by the US-India Business Council of the US Chamber of Commerce. He has also served as a Director on the Central Board of the Reserve Bank of India. B.Tech: 1972 R. S. Pawar was awarded Padma Bhushan by the President of India in 2011. He is the Chairman and Co-Founder of NIIT Group that encompasses NIIT Limited, a leading Global Talent Development Corporation, and NIIT Technologies Limited, the software and services arm. Pawar is a member board of the Data Security Council of India (DSCI), setup by NASSCOM. He has also served as a member of the Prime Minister’s National Council on Skill Development and has served the Prime Minister’s National Task Force (1998) commissioned to develop India into an IT Superpower. An advisor to the Hunan Province of China, he has also been a member of PIAC (Presidential International Advisory Council) of the Government of South Africa for IT. He is on the Board of Governors of the Indian School of Business. B.Tech: 1972 Vijay is the cofounder of NIIT group, Vice Chairman Managing Director, NIIT Limited and Co-Founder, NIIT University. He served as President of the Indian IT industry association, MAIT and also chaired the Indian Government's Committee on National Information Infrastructure Policy. He served as Chairman of the IT Committee, Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in USA. He is currently serving as the Chairman of CII National Committee on Education and also served as the Chairman of the National Accreditation Board for Education and Training (NABET) and as the Chairman of Board of Governors of Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT), Allahabad. B.Tech: 1988 Pawan Sinha is a tenured Professor of Computational and Visual Neuroscience in the Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences at MIT. He is a recipient of the Pisart Vision Award from the Lighthouse Guild International, the PECASE–the highest US Government award for young scientists, the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Fellowship in Neuroscience, the John Merck Scholars Award for research on developmental disorders, the Jeptha and Emily Wade Award for creative research. He has been inducted into the Guinness Book of Records for creating the world’s smallest reproduction of a printed book. B.Tech: 1979 Hari, together with his brother Shyam, is the Founder and Co-Chairman of Jubilant Bhartia Group. The Group, valued at around US $5 Billion and 39,000 employees globally, has leadership position in diverse sectors like Pharmaceuticals, Life Science Ingredients, Drug Discovery Services, Performance Polymers, Food Service (QSR), Automobile, Retail and Consulting in Aerospace and Oilfield Services etc. B.Tech: 1985 Soumitra Dutta is the Founding Dean of Cornell SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University, New York and Chair of the Board of Directors of the Global Business School Network, Washington DC. Before this, Dutta was the Roland Berger Chaired Professor of Business and Technology and Professor of Business and Technology at INSEAD. He has also served as the Chair for AACSB International, Tampa, Florida and the Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Innovation Ecosystems. B.Tech: 2005 Sachin Bansal is the former Executive Chairman and Co-Founder of Flipkart. Within a decade of its starting up, the company acquired about 40% of market share of India’s e-commerce Industry and inspired many young entrepreneurs to experiment in that space. In the year 2018, Flipkart was acquired by Walmart for USD 16 billion. M.Tech: 1988 Mr. Krishnan is the Chief Technology Officer of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), and chairs the TCS Corporate Technology Board.Mr. Krishnan was named in Computerworld’s Premier 100 IT Leaders and in Infoworld’s Top 25 Global CTOs in the year 2007. B.Tech: 1981 Patanjali Keswani is the Chairman and Managing Director of Lemon Tree Hotels and Red Fox Hotels. Lemon tree hotels owns and operates 50 hotels[9] with over 5000 rooms in 31 cities of India. Keswani was honored by the N.C.P.E.D.P. (National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People) with the Shell Helen Keller Award in 2010 for offering opportunities to physically disabled Indians. Keswani is also the Chairman of the Skills Council for Persons With Disability (SCPwD). He is also a member of the Sector Skills Council for Hospitality, Travel and Tourism (NSDC) and the Sector Mentor Council for the Hospitality, Travel and Tourism Industry (Ministry of Labor and Employment). Keswani was also a member of the University Grants Commission. B.Tech: 1981 Ashish Nanda is the former Director of IIM Ahmedabad. He is a Faculty Member at Harvard Business School and a recipient of the Henry B. Arthur Fellowship, President of India Gold Medal (twice) and the IIM, Ahmedabad Director’s Gold Medal. B.Tech: 1985 Sharad Malik is the George Van Ness Lothrop Professor of Engineering and the Director for the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education at Princeton University. He is also the Director of the Gigascale Systems Research Center (GSRC), one of six centers that comprise the Focus Center Research Program (FCRP), a joint industry-government initiative. He has received numerous teaching awards including the Princeton University President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching (2009). He is a Fellow of the IEEE. MS(Research): 1978 Prof. Pothen is a professor in the Computer Science Department and Director of the Computing Research Institute (CRI) at Purdue University. He was the Director of the CSCAPES Institute, a pioneering research center in combinatorial scientific computing (CSC).
