D. program is appropriate for students with motivation for research and either a superior track record in coursework or substantial experience in industrial research and development.In addition to teaching assistantships and departmental research assistantships, many computer science graduate students receive support from New Mexico Tech’s various research divisions such asICASA,PRRC, andEMRTC.In 2002, New Mexico Tech s Computer Science and Engineering department earned the school institutional designation as a Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education from the National Security Agency and Department of Homeland Security. The department has not only renewed its NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education status, but also added the prestigious designation of NSA/DHS National Center of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Research.
