What's considered the best large scooter available at the moment? Had a spin on a Yamaha X-max or T-max I think it was called a few years back think it was 500cc great machine for around the city centre. A buddy is looking for one with a €5k budget, large and capable of doing some touring on I know.Anyone have a Honda pan european and live in your bog standard semi d. After doing the nc500 a few weeks back I've convinced myself I need a proper touring bike.Side entrance of the gaff is 84cm at its narrowest point. Question is, is it a major faff to remove mirrors and panniers to get in and out.Yes, I have considered the fjr but after having a test ride on the pan I'm smitten.I have a 2004 Pan European. It's the 1300 model, non abs. There's an issue with the ignition switch. If I wiggle the key the lights go off and speedometer goes blank. The engine stays running and I can still drive but it obviously wouldn't be ideal if I'm driving down a dark back road and the lights go off Worried it might leave me stranded with no lights so want to get it sorted.I'm wondering if anybody had a similar problem before.? Is it something that can usually be fixed by stripping and cleaning or am I most likely looking at a new ignition barrel? I'd rather not go down the new barrel route if I can avoid it.Thanks ... [Read More]Anybody know of any daycent suppliers of aftermarket plastics, bellypans etc. in Irl or mainland Europe? Was off today so got out for a few hours. Took the back roads from NCW to Kanturk, Killarney, Kenmare over Priests Leap, Bantry and Schull. Came home same way except avoided the leap. Cracking day for it.Hi lads, i have a nice aluminum box that i want to use as a topbox so if anyone of ye have an old broken givi monokey topbox id be delighted to take it off ye for a few beer tokens, I have the baseplate, so i only need the bottom of a box so no matter how bad it is itll do fine for what i want,Cheers peeps Having driven over a lot of loose chippings (Wicklow) on Sunday I now have a hole in my radiator and when the bike heats up water is pissing out of it.Questions are 1. Is it worth repairing, 2. Anyone know best place to do it. Oem part is between 600 - 900 yoyos, and spurious part is about 80. Also, before I start scouring the Web, anyone know a breakers with a cb 1300?Anyone running MICHELIN PILOT ROAD 3, 4 or 5 on bigger bikes like the VFR Crosstourer 1200, R1200GS, Tenere1200 types.I had PR3s on the Deauville and found them to be a great tyre.I do all road riding.Where the best place to get tyres and have them fitted in the Dublin area? I'm thinking getting a set of MICHELIN PILOT ROAD 4 for the Crosstourer.HI All, stone just popped a hole on my right hand side Fillercap side water radiator,Anyone out there have one for sale from a Damaged bike .Tryed really good repair shop but leakin badly again .Many Thanks in AdvanceI have issues 12 to 125 that are becoming endangered in my house due to spring cleaning wife.... I told her it was fucking Autumn but she isn't a good listener. Dublin/kildare area looking for 20e for the lot just to get a tank of juice out of them. There may be some other mags like PB in the pile as a bonus. I don't have the early money making issues unfortunately i was late to the party. These will be great for someone in our next lockdownRichard Rawlings from Gas Monkey is auctioning off a collection.Man, I wish I was in the States looking at some of the prices.Auction is live now on youtube can't figure out how to post a link off the phoneEdit: Link here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7YMn6PfKwJ8Howya lads,I'm recommissioning a 50cc scooter that's been sat for around 14 years (got it started handy enough, cleaned the carb, drained the tanks and filled it with 33/1 premix.carb cleaner direct into the carb and away it went after a couple of boots)Question is: I'm looking for caliper seals for the front brake,I can buy a repair kit including the pistons but I don't need them,it's only done 3800kms,still meat on the pads so I'm full sure the pistons are fine, just that I wouldn't trust the seals after that long sat.Any recommendations on where to buy just the seals?have been looking but can't find them without the full repair kit. Thanks in advance Got a 1290 superduke brought over by Jarvis trans delivered to my door in Waterford from Frankfurt.Top class service, kept in touch with how the progress was going and all went smooth.Would 100% use them again. If your thinking of buying in europe hit them up for a quote! How is it that every single time you lend something to someone, if it comes back, it comes back broken. The worst is fuckers that give it back broken and say nothin.Lent out a v*n yesterday and the the fuckin state it came back in and not a drop of diesel in it.Pulled out a welder I had lent out and the earth clamp was broken off it and left in the boxPreviously lent out an obd scanner and it came back in its case with a broken screen and damaged cable.Lent a bike to a lad to do a road race arrived in the paddock and he had it stripped and the engine out of it as he preferred his frame.. Then when I got it back off the wanker every nut and bolt was hanging off it and the front MC was missing. And this is a very well known... Something in the 38 to 42 range should do. Seem very hard to source online. only place ive found the has a E160 min order and the other is E16 postage for one jet. There is currently a 50 in it and it wont run near right with it.ThanksWas out for a blast on Friday evening on a road I know well. In fairness I was pushing on at a fair clip on a N road.I was on a straight with a minor road junction to the left. I could see a van was sitting there waiting for clear traffic so he could get onto main road.I said to myself he must see me, but backed off slightly anyway...as you do.With probably 100mtrs to junction, my fucker pulls out.How can I explain this, as it doesn't make sense. Everything happened so fast, but also in slow motion.I remember thinking to myself, pick left position or right. I knew going right would put me into oncoming traffic, so opted left. I grabbed brakes (thank fuck for ABS) aimed left. At the same time the van was coming out... [Read More]Best place to talk to someone about making up a set of longer S/S lines brake lines for me Raider? Would need a new line from M/C into a splitter and then two extended lines from that to the calipers.Picked this up on Wednesday, very happy with it so far. No interst in sportsbikes anymore and was looking for something after selling on the trackbike. Good friend of mine had it for sale and couldn't let it pass. Full set of genuine honda luggage, all keys etc. Loving the V4 sound too!! It has a Bazzaz system fitted to smooth out the power delivery as well. Haven't decided whether to sell on the baby Gixxer yet, not riding it much lately. One of the leading riders entered for the 2021 KDM Hire Cookstown 100, Derek McGee, the Mullingar Missile has had to withdraw his entry for this year's event, following a training incident last weekend.McGee, a past winner over the Orittor circuit, and the rider who finished closest to Michael Dunlop at the recent Armoy road races broke his pelvis in seven places when he was high-sided from an off-road machine.Derek, who missed last year's event, so that he could start the 2021 season, injury-free, was due to ride in five races at this year's Cookstown event. This no doubt will be a major disappointment for many race fans, but our thoughts are with Derek, as we wish him a... I'm in Dublin but can travel to collect. Thanks,I've a friend (really) who wants to bring a GB registered trike into the country. It's a 1200cc engined trike, and is about 12 years old. Was trying to do the sums to work out what the import duties and taxes are likely to be (roughlly) for him.Does this sound right ..?A quick look at some info online suggests the trike would be treated similarly to a 2 wheel motorcycle, so VRT:€2 per cc for the first 350cc so - €700€1 per cc for the remaining 850cc. - €850Total. = €1550Reduced by age related discount ... [Read More]Never heard of these before but the original unit on the FJR 13 packed in. They are known for weak shocks so I shelled out for one of these to replace it as the bike is nearly perfect otherwise. Very nice piece of kit. Fully adjustable.I've long heard great things about Steve in NDM but, despite living in Skerries for 10 years, I never actually got them to do any work on a bike for me.I've been meaning to pop to them for a while now to have a chat about the Gixer and to look at maybe upgrading suspension and brakes. Went there for a spin yesterday and chatted to Steve. He told me the best thing to do 1st was to set the suspension up for me properly and to get the most out of what was already on the bike as it is before spending on upgrades. Makes sense. He then decided he had time before the next guy and his V4S were due in so he and Lee set about setting the suspension up for me and Steve took it for a spin himself too to see how it felt. ...
