We set out to create a fresh app in a stale genre. Wallpaper apps currently follow the same pattern: a lack of current up-to-date content that users want on their phones and follow the misguided mindset of quantity-over-quality.

The app continues to grow with new daily wallpapers, new curated packs, and new artists being added often. With over 5 million users, numerous features in the App Store, and over forty thousand five-star reviews, Vellum has staked the top spot in the genre.

Working with a small team, we built and launched Mextures for the iPhone in May of 2013. We won “app of the year” that same year from Apple.

Included are over 150 analog light leaks, hand-made artifacts,elemental textures, and dusty vintage film scans. You can stack an infinite number of textures onto your image, apply film presets, and use our desktop grade adjustments. And the feature we’re most proud of? We built the first filter sharing platform where our users could share their edits with other photographers via the app.

Today, we’ve expanded our brand into a thriving creative community, a free-to-use stock photo website - The Mextures Collective, a plugin for Photoshop, and a new app coming soon.
