I was at the Stow Library last night reading in the magazine section while the kids were engaged with a Find Your Fandom event. I was reading the National Geographic issue on women when I came across some story on the Marines, and how they ve integrated women into almost all forms of combat roles. The encounter started innocently enough. Her name was Susie, and she was 6. She came up my waist line, barely, and she stared up at me with her big wondering eyes, questioning me with her looks. I was fortunate to attend the Great Trail Council s University of Scouting as a presenter this weekend. The topic? Orienteering, of course!
