Update from Verd on COVID-19June Session #6, July Session #7, and July Session #8 are all 100% full at this time.With Covid-19, comes changes to AAAA Driving School for the summer sessions. The summer sessions will be interactive online classes using Google Meets. The classes will stay at the posted time, June and July 12-3pm, August 10 -1pm. The August class may have to change the times due to area school startdates. The drive times will be before and after class and on Saturday and Sunday also.We will be adhering to the CDC standards set forth by the IDOT. The students and teachers will be wearing masks, using hand sanitizer, and the cars will be sanitized between drives.If driving brings concerns to you or your child, IDOT has given permission to complete the driving hours after the class is completed but must be finished by August 31.Still two classrooms for 2020, but one new location! Davenport classes will be held at North High School and6246 NW Blvd during the school year Eldridge classes will be held at the Eldridge Community Center, 400 South 16th Ave., Eldridge, IA.For 2020 AAAA Driving School will adapt and change once again. There will only be 13 sessions this year between Davenport and Eldridge. Davenport classes will be at my house, 6246 NW Blvd, Davenport, IA during the school year and North High School during the summer. Eldridge classes will be the Eldridge Community Center, 400 South 16th Ave., Eldridge, IA.Welcome Lancer Nation! Rick Sharp has retired from teaching drivers education. He was an icon for your community for many years. I have been operating AAAA Driving School in Davenport and Bettendorf for 9 years. AAAA Driving School like Sharp Driving, is student focused with class/drive times. I have 7 cars and 9 employees that teach driver education on a part-time basis. AAAA Driving School has taught over 3000 students driver education over the 9 years.During the school year classes will be 6pm to 9pm Monday thru Thursday and Friday 4pm to 7pm. During the summer the classes will be 12-3pm in June and July, and 10-1pm in August. Drives will be 530am to 730am Monday thru Friday, 4pm to 6pm Monday thru Thursday, and they will start at 6am on Saturday and Sunday. The drives will be picked by the students on the first day of class.AAAA Driving School asks for $100 down payment to secure a spot. Balance of the tuition must be received on or before the first day of class and is nonrefundable.Parents please realize the more time you spend driving with your child before them taking Driver s Education will benefit them and you in the long run. I firmly believe that your child is taking the most important class in their high school career. The added stress of never driving before the first day of class hurts your child s psyche and could delay their driving adventures.AAAA Driving School will offer additional drive times beyond the state requirement of 6 hours for your child, if needed, at a rate of $50 per 1 hour of driving. Drive times will be established after they have completed the regular scheduled driver education session.With AAAA Driving School the last private small business offering driver s education in Scott County, please realize that the sessions will fill up quickly due to supply and demand issues.
