All public health procedures for addressing COVID-19 remain intact and will be strictly followed to keep students and staff healthy and safe at school. We will continue to monitor public health data as we strive to provide our students with an exceptional education in these challenging times. From Dr. Bagwell:As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, I wanted to take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the students of St. Mary Parish Schools for their fortitude in adapting to mask wearing, social distancing, and other steps designed to keep them healthy. Certainly, these first few months of the school year have presented many challenges as we weathered the pandemic and hurricane season, but our students have shown that they are resilient and able to adapt quickly to change. I also want to thank parents for their patience and understanding as the school system cautiously navigated through new procedures and state reopening phases to safely open schools and keep the community informed along the way. With the guidance and support of an incredible teaching staff and administrator leadership, our students are moving forward academically and have shown that learning continues no matter the method or classroom location. I have every confidence that they will continue to show academic gains as the year progresses and am grateful for all the extra time and efforts our educators have made to sustain learning both on-campus and virtually. On behalf of the educational community of St. Mary Parish, I want to extend our wish for a happy and safe Thanksgiving holiday. I urge you to continue to uphold mask wearing and social distancing measures during the holiday. We are grateful for the opportunity to educate St. Mary s next generation, and we look forward to the return of our students on Monday, November 30.
