The staff at the Institute for LGBT Studies at the University of Arizona acknowledges the pain, suffering, and anger of so many during this time of continued police brutality, political assaults, and COVID 19 that disproportionately harm, and kill, black, indigenous, and people of color. We stand in solidarity with those protesting the persistent racism in the United States. #BlackLivesMatter The Institute brings people and ideas together to conduct LGBTQ+ research, design LGBTQ+ relevant curricula, and develop public LGBTQ+ focused programming. LGBTQ+ Virtual Artist-in-Residence with The Institute for LGBT Studies May 26, 2020 The Institute for LGBT Studies was inspired to create an opportunity for LGBTQ+ virtual artists-in-residence after conversations with local LGBTQ+ artists and musicians who were primarily gig workers and heavily impacted by COVID-19. Artists from all mediums and backgrounds, both local and national, responded to our call. We were in awe at the response from artists and the amazingly talented individuals that applied.
