Proudly created with Wix.comEQT Washington County Junior Livestock Market Competition Mission The 2020 Washington County Agricultural Fair was cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic, its guidelines and the concerns and the safety of the many Fair stakeholders. At the same time, the Fair Board voted and approved a resolution to preserve the Junior Livestock Market Competition. The Fair Board approved the formation of a committee that immediately began to work on a plan to conduct the Livestock Market Competition during the Fair dates of August 20th to 22nd. This will allow the hundreds of children and their families to show the animals they have been nurturing and preparing for months. The Fair Board will announce the Junior Livestock Market Competition plans as soon they are complete which should be within the next few days. A draft schedule is below. The Washington County Agricultural Fair is a 501(C)(3) non-profit and is Pennsylvania s oldest fair dating back to October of 1798. The primary mission of the fair is to promote and advance the interest of agriculture, horticulture, homemaking subjects, arts and sciences, 4-H Clubs and FFA organizations and activities. The Covid-19 pandemic has had a devastating financial impact on the fair and the fairgrounds operation. The pandemic has caused the cancelation of the fair and all non-fair events dating back to March and into the foreseeable future.
