I have been part of the Grammar family ever since Prep.So many doors have been opened for me at Grammar, providing me so many magnificent opportunities to thrive. All throughout my time at Grammar I have been continuously encouraged by teachers to not only achieve, but to extend myself in all areas. One area I aspire to is our specialist lessons. These weekly opportunities stimulate our imaginations and provide motivation to pursue our unique talents. An area I am most passionate about is the subject of Visual Arts. I have been nurtured to further my love and mastery of the subject through the continued support of the specialist teachers in this area.Lily Woods, Student 2018-07-20T10:19:51+10:00 I have been part of the Grammar family ever since Prep. When looking for a suitable school we chose Sunshine Coast Grammar because of its reputation and balance for academic and sporting excellence. We fell in love with the grounds and superb facilities at the school. The boys are all involved heavily with the music program and finding friends and fitting in was made a lot easier by starting the school rugby program immediately. Through the boys sports and extra curricular activities they were quick to form friendships that will have a long and lasting impact beyond their time at Grammar.Goulter Family 2018-11-27T12:29:11+10:00 Our family relocated from Hong Kong to the Sunshine Coast five years ago. It can be one of the most significant transition periods of a student’s life and children will often be pushed mentally and emotionally during this time and can feel worried and anxious, but also excited and happy – all at the same time! These mixed emotions can often be difficult to navigate for both children and parents. However, there are a number of strategies that can be deployed to ensure a smooth transition. Making new friends, learning new routines, discovering new environments, accepting new cultures and adjusting to new learning practices is all part of the process. Some children will sail through this transition period, whilst others may need a bit more guidance. It is important to give your child the chance to feel comfortable in their new space. This may take a few months, but ensure you keep the lines of communication open and check in regularly with your child to see how they are settling in.In this Special SchoolTV Report, parents and caregivers will be presented with a number of strategies that can be deployed to help ensure a smooth transition. Here is the link to your special report:https://scgs.qld.schooltv.me/wellbeing_news/moving-new-school 2 View on FacebookSunshine Coast Grammar School Congratulations to our Basketball players Bella P and Charlotte R who spent five days playing at the State Championships in Mackay.
