Our annual Wheels for Meals ride benifiting the Food Pantry of Jeff Davis County is Saturday, October 6. It is 88 miles from Fort Davis to Valentine, TX and back. Riders can ride all or part and relay or tag-teams are also welcome. Registration is $50.00 and riders are required to raise a minimum of $250.00 in donations for the Food Pantry. Hello All I highly recommend the Pineywoods Purgatory in Lufkin on Saturday, October 5th. I first rode in this in 2007, and it s the only ride I do every year without fail. It is very well supported, has great rest stops and awesome scenery with some major hills. They offer a carbo-loader spaghetti dinner Friday evening for $5 a person, and a nice post-ride lunch (usually fajitas) that is included in the registration fee. I think that once you ride in this, you ll be hooked, too.
