Over the years tax professionals doing businesses in the Asian and Oceanic regions had been strongly conscious of the necessity that the same international professional body as CFE would exist in the area.On 6 November 1992 an inauguration meeting took place in Tokyo Japan with the attendance of representatives of founding member organisations from 8 countries and regions. Since then AOTCA has grown to a membership of 19 professional bodies from jurisdictions including Australia, China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam, and two associate members from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.  Message from the PresidentIt is with great pride and joy that I greet all of you as the new President of this Association. Thank you for the privilege and the trust you have given to me.I also wish to thank the Mongolian Association of Certified Tax Consultants, headed by Ms. Altanzaya Gunsen, for a successful and well-organized international tax conference held in Ulaanbaatar last September 13, 2018. The conference gave all participants a thorough perspective of the developments of General Anti-Avoidance Rules in various jurisdictions. It also showcased the great Mongolian culture and hospitality.It is a privilege that we start our term with the historic signing of the Ulaanbaatar Declaration with Confédération Fiscale Européenne (CFE), through the Global Tax Advisers Platform (GTAP).  This declaration signals a new era of increased cooperation and interaction between and among tax consultants in the Asia-Pacific Region, Europe and Africa. We thus look forward to more exchange of information and interaction not just among the members of the Association, but also among tax consultants and regional associations from other parts of the world.
