New Providence School District's Music Education Program Receives National Recognition for theEighth Consecutive YearNow in its 21st year, the Best Communities for Music Education designation is awarded to districts that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students. To qualify for the Best Communities designation, New Providence answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, and support for the music programs. This award recognizes that New Providenceis leading the way with learning opportunities as outlined in the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The district received this designation in 2005 and in every year since 2013, a total of nine times. NPHS Marching Band National ChampionsCongratulations to the NPHS Marching Band "Pride and Class" on theirfirst place win in Group VI A at the USBands National Championships! The band also secured caption awards for Best Music, Best Color Guard, Best Visual, and Best Overall Effect.The 140-member band is open to all students at New Providence High School and New Providence residents who attend the UCVTS Magnet School, and is ledand directed by Mr. Michael Neidziejko with Assistant Director, Mr. Donald Baker.
