Browse what s available at the Learning Resource Center. Families, staff, and visitors/vendors are required to complete the daily pre-screen before coming to school. Students (not currently enrolled in the Bloomfield Virtual program) will begin attending school in-person in the hybrid model according to the phase-in timelineand must complete the pre-screen daily. The pre-screen is available at www.bloomfield.org/pre-screen and can be completed from any computer, tablet, or mobile device. Paper copiesare also available for those who wish to print the checklist for a home reference.Students and staff do not need to display a screen or paper upon bus or building entry according to guidance received from the Oakland County Health Division. Visitors/Vendors must complete the digital pre-screen prior to building entry and visitors/vendors will be greatly limited to minimize exposure risk. Student Athletes will also be required to complete the digital pre-screen prior to participation in athletics.Thank you for your cooperation and daily diligence in this process! BHS families who need a device for their student are invited to pickup devices on September 11 from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. The Board of Education approved the following tentativePhase-InPlanfor In-Person Teaching and Learning for students who did not select Bloomfield Virtual... Bloomfield Hills Schools staff recently collaborated during Welcome Back Week to get ready for the school year. On Thursday, September 3, Governor Whitmer signed an Executive Order permitting fall sports to practice and compete beginning on September 8 and 9. Accordingly, Bloomfield Hills Schools high school fall sports will resume on September 8 and 9. To ensure the health, safety, and wellness of our school community and to ensure all students have access to a high-quality education, we ask that you read the following expectations. In order to properly document the medical condition that precludes wearing a facial covering, your child s medical providermust complete the following form. Students enrolled in K-5 Bloomfield Virtual need to pick up non-technology materials on Thursday, September 3,at their home schoolbased on the times publicized by brick-and-mortar principals. These include the important math workbook for students. Students enrolled in K-5 Bloomfield Virtual who did not pick up a device on September 1,can go to BHHS on September 2or 3to pick up a device for their child(ren). Bloomfield Virtual K-5 teachers will be sending an email to their families tomorrow, September 2,to introducethemselves to their students and provide their Zoom link for the first day of school, September 8. There willnotbe a virtual meet-and-greet with teachers on Thursday, September 3. Bloomfield Virtual families only need to do materials pick up at their home building on this date. On Wednesday, September 9, we will not have live instruction. It will be a Meet and Greet day. Students who are comfortable meeting their teacher in person will be able to do so during the morning. Each classroom teacher will share the way to sign-up for a meet-and-greet spot. These will be held at various locations across the district, and strict social distancing will be required. Masks are suggested. For those families who are not comfortable meeting their teacher in person, on the afternoon of September 9, you can join your teacher virtually on their Zoom link for some online small-group time.September 10 will be the rain date for our Meet and Greet Day. This fall, BHS will be continuing free curbside service for students either learning virtually or distance learning through at least December 31, 2020.Meal distribution will take place Mondays and Thursdays, and will begin Thursday, September 10, curbside at BHHS from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will be provided for breakfast and lunch. In the weeks leading up to this unusual school year, BHS administrators, faculty, and staff have been hard at work, and preparing for the unique challenges of the year by attending trauma-informed practices workshops. Oakland County has expanded its free drive-thru COVID-19 testing to include school-age children from 4-17 years old. Testing is available weekdays by appointment only through calling 800-848-5533. The Board of Education approved the next steps in our return to learning plan, the Bloomfield Blueprint, during their August 20th Board of Education meeting. Please continue to reference the Bloomfield Blueprint website, which contains all up-to-date information and a record of theinformation from the past several months. Six components were presented and approved at the meeting. Families are automatically signed up to receive communication from their child s school, teachers, and Bloomfield Hills Schools through Remind and My Bloomfield.
