We are the peak national body for visual art education in Australia.As an AEA member you have access to a number of resources on this website including the journal Australian Art Educationwhich publishes research from national and international authors on a wide variety of art education and art related topics. We also encourage articles from teachers for our practice-based article section. Members are also encouraged to submit artwork for consideration for the front cover of the journal. Further information including how to submit articles for consideration can be found in the 'Publications' link tab.During this current crisis we have also uploaded some very useful online resources on our AEA Facebook page including a 10 key resources list.This collaborative visual arts digital teaching and learning document was created in the first few weeks of Australia’s response to the pandemic, however in the wonderful spirit of generosity that has pervaded this entire situation, other educators also contribute their resources to this resource. It is available as a Google Drive document and is moderated to ensure the quality of contributions. There is also a contents page to make it easier to navigate.Thank you to everyone for supporting each other by so generously sharing your resources.International Arts Education Week - 25-31 May, 2020During the week of 25 – 31 May arts educators around the world celebrated UNESCO International Arts Education Week – perhaps a little more quietly than normal. There was an outpouring of creativity activity throughout the world. Through the wonders of technology InSEA hosted an international exhibition with the theme ‘Be Radical’. The AEA Executive and Committee posted their artistic responses to the AEA Facebook page during this week with a provocation, question or comment related to the theme.We hope you had a wonderful time celebrating International Arts Education Week wherever you were!!Australian Art Education - Volume 40, Issue 2 - is now availableWe are delighted to announce the most recent issue of Australian Art Education the journal of Art Education Australia has now been published. There is a wonderful quote from Professor Margaret Barrett on the front cover: "In developing students' capacity to participate fully in the life of work and the work of life, it is essential that we foster students' skills, knowledge and understanding in the languages of all art forms."
