There were many people doing double takes Sunday in North Bend, Washington, after four zebras got loose from their trailer and galloped into a neighborhood. Somehow the zebras got loose, and trotted past brunch patrons at a restaurant and wound up in a backyard. KING-TV reports that's where two were captured with the help of rodeo professionals. The baby of the herd was later corralled. The fate of the fourth missing zebra wasn't immediately known Monday. A U.K. government official says two riderless military horses that bolted and ran miles through the streets of London after being spooked by construction noise are in serious condition after undergoing operations. Defense minister James Cartlidge said Thursday that the pair were among a group of four horses that broke free during exercises Wednesday near Buckingham Palace. They tossed their riders and caused chaos as they galloped loose through central London streets during morning rush hour. The British Army says one of the horses was transferred to an equine hospital. Three of the soldiers thrown from their steeds were hospitalized but are expected to fully recover. Chicago's so-called “rat hole” is gone. A Chicago sidewalk landmark some affectionately call the “rat hole” has been removed after city officials determined the section bearing the imprint of an animal was damaged. A spokesperson for the Chicago Department of Transportation says the square section of sidewalk was placed in temporary storage. It contains an impression resembling the outline of a rat — claws, tail and all. But there is a rigorous debate over whether a squirrel is truly responsible. Neighbors in the residential area have complained of noise and mess left by people coming to see the quirky landmark since a social media post spiked interest in January. Four soldiers were thrown off the horses and three of the troops were hospitalized with injuries. The horses were all captured shortly after and were taken back to the barracks in Hyde Park where they are undergoing medical tests.
