NOXIOUS WEED ALERT

The primary purpose of this Early Detection, Rapid Response (EDRR) Noxious Weed Alert page is to enable citizens to learn of and/or report new infestations of noxious or invading weeds.

NOXIOUS WEED ID

The state of Utah recently updated it's noxious weed list and currently lists a total of 54 weeds. Stay up to date with Utah's noxious weeds.

CWMA

Cooperative Weed Management Areas, commonly referred to as CWMA's, are one of the newest and most effective ways to battle noxious and invading weeds in the United States.

NOXIOUS WEED LAWS

Invasive noxious weeds have been described as a raging biological wildfire – out of control, spreading rapidly, and causing enormous economic losses.

OUR FOCUS AND GOALS

The Utah Weed Supervisors Association, or UWSA, is the organization of Utah’s 29 county weed supervisors as defined in Utah Noxious Weed Act. The UWSA assists county weed boards, cooperative weed management areas, local governments, tribes, and landowners in halting the spread of listed species through partnerships and regulatory actions. The UWSA provides technical expertise and general assistance on noxious weed information and treatment techniques. The UWSA goals are to protect Utah’s natural resources, agriculture, and economy by preventing the introduction of new invasive species and to eradicate, contain, or manage existing invasive species in Utah.

We are committed to being tranparent and having open communication with the general public.

Embracing new technologies and techniques, we focus on trying to save Utah's tax dollars.

Working with land managers and owners, we strive to prevent the spread of noxious weeds in Utah.

The Utah Weed Supervisors is made up of 30 local county weed superintendents and state representatives, all coming together to pool resources.

Through our grant funding program, we are actively looking for projects that we can partner on. Together we can combine reources for better management.

WEED REPORTS

Utilizing EDDMapS there has been a widespread effort on mapping and reporting noxious weed infestations in Utah. More reporting means more awareness.

SITE REVISITS

Utilizing EDDMaps Pro we are actively monitoring known infestations to document changes over time. We are making more effective management decions.
