Texas Healthcare Partnership – Region 6

** Click here for the RHP Plan and Stakeholder Resources.**

In December 2011, the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) received federal approval of a waiver which gave Texas the flexibility to design and improve its healthcare programs. The waiver allowed the state to expand Medicaid managed care while preserving hospital funding, provided incentive payments for health care improvements, and directed more funding to hospitals that serve large numbers of uninsured patients.

HHSC established geographic boundaries for new Regional Healthcare Partnerships (RHP). Each RHP has developed a plan that identified the participating partners, community needs, proposed projects and funding distribution.

RHP 6 is anchored by University Health and includes the following counties: Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Guadalupe, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, La Salle, McMullen, Medina, Real, Uvalde, Val Verde, Wilson, and Zavala.

Message from University Health System CEO

University Health is honored to be the anchor for RHP 6. It is our pleasure to coordinate with the UT Health San Antonio, our hospital partners and other stakeholders to transform healthcare in our 20-county region. Through this waiver, we have the opportunity to work together to make significant progress toward the Triple Aim goals of assuring patients receive high-quality and patient-centered care, in the most cost-effective ways.

We strive to keep this site up to date with information regarding Medicaid 1115 waiver developments in our region and throughout the state. We hope you “bookmark it” and find it to be a useful resource.
