Welcome to St Chris

What every parent wants is for their children to do well in life. And that means finding a school that will set them up for their future.

What do they need for that?

Good grades, of course, and as strong an academic attainment as possible. But they need something arguably more important too.
They need a core confidence in themselves as young people, a sense of their own worth and responsibility.

So come and visit St Chris and find out what your children
are capable of.

Virtual Open Day

St Chris at a Glance

St Chris is an independent day and boarding school that welcomes girls and boys from the ages of 3 to 18, located in Letchworth Garden City, Hertfordshire.

Founded in 1915, we treat young people as individuals, encouraging them to develop into capable, imaginative, responsible people with a zest for life.

We recently hosted 15 children and their key workers from Wonderland Nursery in the Junior School Forest School. The Nursery Manager's said that: "We really appreciate the effort you have all gone to for us, we had such a fabulous time, the children are still talking about it today. We will use the photos from the QR code to do our Forest School display and organise that next week. We would obviously love to come back again and visiting the animals would be wonderful."The visit was part of our community partnerships programme, inviting other schools to visit St Chris and use our facilities.Lucy Coddington, Junior School registrar said "It was great to see so many children from Wonderland and their key carers for their Forest School session, led by our passionate Junior School Forest School teacher Lydia. Everyone had fun exploring the orchard and all that it has to offer! The children spent time climbing in the trees, playing in the tarpaulin tents, making rope swings, using magnifying glasses to explore the flowers and wildlife and saying hi to our resident newt in the pond.Forest school is very important to us here at St Chris and our students have sessions once a week throughout the seasons up until the end of Year 4. Through play and outdoor exploration, children develop a deep and meaningful connection to the natural world and understand their place in it, we were really happy to host this session."Many thanks to Lucy Coddington, the Junior School registrar, for organising the event, Chrissie for driving one of the minibuses, Maddie for capturing the whole event with beautiful images, and Lydia for leading the session (Lydia even received a hand-made card!).#hertfordshirenursery #firstdayatschool ... When the photos are too good to not post... ⚽️🤸We concluded the last term with a staff versus student football match. We thought the students were competitive but the staff really stepped it up a notch...The game was fiercely attended by students and staff, and the crowd was torn between who to support. Unfortunately for the staff team, when the game went to penalties, they were humbled by our student team. There were a few extravagant celebrations from certain members of the staff team, and perhaps it was their lack of modesty that ultimately cost them the win...Students and staff, regardless of the result, really enjoyed the game, and the students proved to be fierce competition. The student has become the master, it seems! Although we are sure there will be a rematch soon where the staff team hope to make a comeback.#staffvsstudents #schoolfootball ... See MoreSee Less
