Welcome to the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy website. Created by the Louisiana Legislature in 1888, our mission remains the same – to protect the public health, safety and welfare through the effective control and regulation of the practice of pharmacy. We accomplish that mission by restricting entry into the profession to persons meeting the qualifications prescribed by law and then monitoring the professional practice of its licensees for compliance with the laws and rules governing the practice of pharmacy.
