MISSION STATEMENT: The mission of the United States District Court, District Court for the Northern Mariana Islands is to serve the community by ensuring equal access to justice for all by providing an impartial forum to resolve disputes in a fair, effective and timely manner pursuant to the rule of law.

Latest News and Announcements


Regular Business Hours. The Court’s regular business hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except on legal holidays.

The intake counter at the Clerk’s Office closes during the lunch hour from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. and at 4:30 p.m. each business day, except for the last business day of each month when the intake counter closes at 3:00 p.m.

The public may attend open court proceedings. The use of face masks and social distancing is optional based on personal preference as set forth in General Order No. 22-00004. Social distancing accommodations may be provided upon request.

2024 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest Finalists Announced - Posted: 05/12/2024
SAN FRANCISCO – Federal judicial districts throughout the Ninth Circuit have selected their local civics contest winners who will advance as finalists in the preliminary round of the 2024 Ninth Circuit Civics Contest. Forty-two essays and 31 videos are up for consideration to be the next top winners at the circuit level contest. The circuit received 737 essays and 88 video entries.
