The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Spain, Irena Šarac, presented letters of credentials to the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), Zurab Pololikashvili

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Spain, Irena Šarac, presented the letters of credentials, on May 14, 2024, to the Secretary General of the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), Zurab Pololikashvili, as the permanent representative of the Republic of Serbia at the World Tourism Organization.

The presentation of letters of credentials was followed by a friendly and meaningful conversation about the possibilities for improving cooperation in the coming period, with a focus on economic and investment cooperation and the upcoming EXPO 2027 in Belgrade. Special attention was paid to the potentials that exist in the field of innovation, IT sector, gastronomy, education, sports and youth.

 


Promotion of Serbian brandies - rakiyas in Madrid

The Embassy of the Republic of Serbia in the Kingdom of Spain organized on April 17 in the Madrid restaurant "NOS" the presentation and promotion of the traditional Serbian drink - rakiya, under the name "Spirit(s) of Serbia - Rakija connecting people".

A large number of guests, including representatives of competent Spanish institutions, companies from various sectors of activity (catering, trade, tourism, fashion, infrastructure, etc), as well as representatives of the diplomatic corps and medias, had the opportunity to taste several different types of rakiya by 13 Serbian producers ("Zarić" , "Lazar", "Porečje", "Sena spirit", "Akov", "Simeks", "Aleksić", "Stara pesma", "Tok", "Stara sokolova", Cellar "Pevac", "Gorda" and "Prima").

Amb. Irena Šarac presented the origin and main characteristics of this traditional Serbian drink that was served to the guests for tasting.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the Kingdom of Spain, Irena Šarac, presented the letters of credentials to the King of Spain, His Majesty Felipe VI, during a solemn ceremony organized on April 8, 2024 in the Royal Palace in Madrid. In a cordial conversation, mutual satisfaction was expressed due to the traditionally friendly relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Kingdom of Spain, with a joint interest for further work on strengthening and deepening the political dialogue and cooperation in all segments, especially on the economic level.
