An investigation from the Senate Finance Committee revealed that a few European-based automakers imported either cars or auto parts made using Chinese slave labor to the United States.
The investigation, published Monday, was led by Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) who accused automakers of “sticking their heads in the sand and then swearing they can’t find any forced labor in their supply chains.”

According to a legal notice published this month, Graceland and surrounding land on Elvis Presley Boulevard will be auctioned off for cash to the highest bidder at Shelby County Courthouse on May 23, as per WREG-TV News.
Elvis' granddaughter, actress Riley Keough, 34, who is the current owner of Graceland, is challenging the sale with a lawsuit, claiming it is 'fraudulent.'
A temporary restraining order on the sale was issued on Monday, as per Keough's attorney, and an injunction hearing is set for Wednesday.

President Joe Biden’s latest blunder came on Sunday when he claimed that he was vice president during the pandemic and that former President Barack Obama sent him to Detroit, Michigan, to “help fix it.”
Biden’s factually false comment came during a National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) dinner in Detroit, the Daily Beast reported. Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Chairman Martin Gruenberg announced Monday that he will resign, after a recent probe found a widespread culture of sexual harassment and discrimination at the independent agency.
"In light of recent events, I am prepared to step down from my responsibilities once a successor is confirmed," Gruenberg said in a statement. "Until that time, I will continue to fulfill my responsibilities as Chairman of the FDIC, including the transformation of the FDIC's workplace culture." New polling shows President Biden trailing Donald Trump in two key battleground states with less than six months to go before the general election.
The ex-president is polling at 52 percent in Arizona to Biden's 47 percent according to the latest CBS News poll. Trump also leads Biden 54 percent to 45 percent in Florida among likely voters, the CBS News poll found.

A Chicago woman experienced firsthand the consequences of the city’s failures to ensure its citizens have police protection.
The woman, only identified as “Michelle,” waited for hours for a police response Wednesday after experiencing a home invasion, according to WMAQ-TV, the NBC station in the Windy City.
The suspects entered the home in the upscale Wicker Park district after Michelle let her dog out about 12:30 p.m., WMAQ reported.
When she saw two men wearing masks inside her home, she screamed, “I am calling the police,” she told WMAQ.“And they bolted,” she told the station.She was lucky they did.

The dozens of cases against former President Donald Trump from various jurisdictions across the country have always had much more nuance around them than either side is willing to admit. While his most ardent supporters were and are wrong to dismiss them ALL out of hand as political lawfare (there’s definitely not “nothing” to the documents case, even if overblown), there is also a strong element of truth to the accusation. Because, particularly in the Manhattan case, lawfare appears to be the primary driving force (besides, of course, Alvin Bragg’s desire to be famous, but two things can definitely be true, especially here).
