The Iris Festival in the Communes
The Iris Festival will, once again, be showcasing the various communes of the Brussels-Capital Region. This year, the guests of honour are Schaerbeek, Evere and Saint-Josse-Ten Node! The programme includes a wealth of unique architectural heritage, museums, original culinary workshops and a genuine marshland reserve. It's the perfect opportunity to discover unknown places and fascinating stories - and, of course, it's all free.

Safer Iris
To ensure that everyone can enjoy the event in the best possible conditions and in complete safety, the Iris Festival will be rolling out a Safer Pride scheme. A Safer Zone will be set up during the concerts. It will be a reception area where you can get information, advice and referral to other services if necessary. You can also come here to pick up some earplugs. The Safer Zone, opposite the Bar, is open to all. It will be open on the Saturday evening, from 19:00 to 00:30.
What to do if you witness or are the victim of discrimination or violence during the Iris Festival?
If you witness an act of discrimination, harassment, sexual and/or sexist violence, please come forward. Offer to accompany the victim to the Safer Zone or head to the Safer Zone to ask for help.
If you are a victim, head to the Safer Zone. Alternatively, if you don't need immediate support, you can write to safe@visit.brussels.
If you don't feel well during the Iris Festival
Whether physically or emotionally, if you're not feeling well during the event, you can go to the Safer Zone for help. Advisers will inform you and guide you according to your needs.
There you will find:
- An Advanced Medical Post (AMP), run by the Red Cross, which provides first aid and medical assistance.
- A Safer Zone managed by visit.brussels, who will provide a sympathetic ear, emotional support and front-line psycho-social.
If you want to go home:
Ask a friend to accompany you.
If you’re alone: contact someone you trust to come and get you. If you want to go home on your own, you can go to the Safer Zone and they will call you a Safe Taxi.
