My wife and I day dreamed for many years about finding land and building a new home for our family. I prayed many times to find a good and honest builder who would guide us and help us fulfill our biggest dream for our family. I’ve worked with builders in my profession for many years and I was so impressed with Dan’s honest and straight forward approach to accomplishing our goal. If what we wanted to do was at all possible he did his best to make it happen. If it wasn’t possible, he told us. The build went smoothly, the communication was great, the site and home was always clean and the contractors that we met along the way were always glad to see us and welcomed our questions. I am in the process of building a custom home with Dan, Atkins Home Builders, and I have to say that it’s a shame that individuals can rate a business for reasons outside of the business. I can speak to my experience with him as a builder. He has been extremely responsive on all items pertaining to my home building process. There have been a lot of challenging permit obstacles on my lot as we have an RPA (wetland protected) area. But Dan has been steadfast, persistent, and persevered on our behalf. I personally spoke with multiple homeowners that purchased a home built by Dan and each person was amazed with his craftsmanship and reiterated how wonderful it was to work with him. I have many construction contacts and every supplier or contractors who has worked with Dan only had glowing reviews. I personally walked through many homes that were under construction and even welcomed in by owners who had completed a build years ago. All his work is top notch and it’s clear he takes pride in his craft. I used to work for a big box builder so I’m very familiar with construction and I did a lot of research so I’m positive that anyone looking to build a custom home can rest assured that he is the real deal and the best in the home builder business. It’s clear to see from all reviews written by those of us who are actually working with or have already worked with this builder.

We signed on to work with Dan Atkins over a year ago & every step of the way he has proven to be a very competent and honest builder. He is a man of his word. We were able to make some custom changes to our floor plan (Mayfield Grand!) at no extra charge. And for those changes and extras that did cost more, all of his fees were totally reasonable. He doesn’t add additional mark-ups to things that other builders do like appliances and such. Dan took up many of his Saturday mornings to meet with us at the property and all along the building process.

There were a few hiccups along the way not under his control, but he worked to ensure that we got to closing before our interest rate lock expired! I am not easy to work with and am high maintenance, but Dan put up with me with a smile on his face. We are enjoying our new home built by Dan!
