First Web Page

My very first web page was a campaigning web page that I  first developed in the year 2000.  What followed is now history.  Step back in time by clicking:  HERE.

High View School & Technology Centre, Derby

While developing my first web page I taught at High View, when the school first opened it was known as High View Community Education Centre. This school went through four successful OFSTEDS in the 1990's. The school was closed in the twenty-first century.  To see a little about the history of the school click HERE

Belper High School, Derbyshire

Prior to Working at High View I taught at Belper (High) School between 1973 and 1990.  The Rural Studies Department achieved widespread national recognition.  To visit the Rural Studies Department at Belper (High) School click HERE.

Whilst teaching at Belper School and, for some time after, I was frequently asked to give talks to various educational organisations, on the roll of Rural Studies in the school curriculum. The talk was illustrated with slides. To view these slides click HERE. (This is a good place to view the Rural Studies department in a little more colour!).

To see Rural Studies at Belper (High) School in the press, click HERE

For many, many more pictures relating to Rural Studies at Belper (High) School 1973 -1990 click HERE.

Whilst working at Belper School I Chaired the Association for Science Education (ASE) Rural Science Working Party.  Although dated, the report produced by the working party is still very relevant to the school curriculum today. To view some key aspects of the report, "Rural Science in Action" click HERE.

Several years ago I had had an article published in the Autumn 2008 journal of the NAEE, (The National Association of Environment Education). The article is entitled "Back to the Future."  The article argues for the return of Rural Studies.  To view the article click HERE.  To see a transcript of this article click Here.

Wilnecote High School, Staffordshire

I taught at Wilnecote High School between 1969 and 1973. You will find some photographs from my time there in the Rural Studies Slide Show .  Also you will discover quite a number of other pictures of the years 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 & 1973 by clicking HERE
