Star Wars Review: Stormtrooper (Epic Hero Series)
|
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Stormtrooper (Epic Hero Series). It looks sort of like a 1990s POTF2 figure, but with slightly less bulky proportions. The head is small, the blaster is huge, and it's actually quite charming. I'd like more of them. Read the whole review.

LEGO The Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree 2-in-1
|
Via LEGO: Great Deku Tree 2-in-1. This $299.99 set has 2,500 pieces and can build either Breath of the Wild or The Ocarina of Time versions of the plant. It also has minifigures for both eras.
LEGO expects delivery in September and the page has turnarounds and pictures galore. I'm amazed they did it. But being old, I'd probably only buy something from the 8- or 16-bit eras at this point - it looks spectacular though.

Review: Mattel Masters of the Universe x Stranger Things Skeletor and Demogorgon Action Figures
|
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New! The Mattel Masters of the Universe x Stranger Things Skeletor and Demogorgon Action Figures just started showing up at Target, and you can probably get one now. Skeletor's colors are less vibrant, and look excellent The Demogorgon has never been in Eternia before, so this is new - and has an awesome D20 staff with energy effects. If you want both figures, it's a good set for the price too. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!

Classic Review: October Toys OTMFG Flesh 3DRetro Robot Mini-Figure
|
A classic! I've written over 5,000 action figure reviews since 2006, so I'm going to toot my own horn with classic Figure of the Day.
Posted ten years ago today! The October Toys OTMFG Flesh 3DRetro Robot Mini-Figure came out in 2014, do you remember it? Probably not. The Gaspars (and their October Toys fan community) really did a nice job making all-new figures for the fans of Keshi-type toys, including this one for 3D Retro. I miss these, they were really fun and we haven't had new molds in a long time . Read on!
Come back tomorrow for an all-new review!

Star Wars Review: LOM-Series Protocol Droid (Black, Droid Factory)
|
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: LOM-Series Protocol Droid (Black, Droid Factory). It's a bin build-a-figure so you may never see it again, but hey, it's neat and the kind of droid thing you'd probably be happy to see in a store if such things were possible in 2024. Read the whole review.

Atari Rolls Up Intellivision
|
Via Atari: ATARI ACQUIRES INTELLIVISION BRAND. Right now, they're selling t-shirts, but this probably is related to the whole IP gold rush in recent years. Atari previously bought Stern (they of Berzerk and Frenzy), Nacelle bought Biker Mice from Mars and Robo-Force and many others, Disney bought Marvel and Star Wars... you see where this is all going. Conglom-O is coming.
They say "The purchase includes the rights to more than 200 titles from the Intellivision portfolio and the Intellivision trademarks."
There's no new software or hardware to speak of, but this is probably the future of the business.

Star Wars Review: Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Retro Collection)
|
Via the Star Wars Galactic Hunter Figure of the Day Blog: Obi-Wan Kenobi (The Retro Collection). While a retro figure, this one also seems to have trace amounts of modern figures - he looks like some of the 5-jointed figures from about 12-13 years ago, but does some unique things like sculpts the Padawan braid as a part of his shoulder. He's in that six pack that seems to be available still at a Target near you, or across town, as they seem to be selling just fine around here. Read the whole review.

Review: Hasbro Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Cyberverse Universe Windblade Action Figure
|
Something new every day-- unless it's old! Our exciting Figure of the Day continues for you lucky people! Is there anything we won't cover in this column? Probably not!
New! The Hasbro Transformers Legacy United Deluxe Cyberverse Universe Windblade Action Figure is a new version of a popular character - Windblade toys tend to do pretty well, and we haven't had a "collector" one for a few years. The sword is cool, I love the little fan, and the colors are amazing. Read on, and come back tomorrow for more fun!
