So reading is not one of my strong suits but I do from time to time pick up a book and actually read. I don't engage in disuccions too much because i'm not really good at relaying my opinions to others. As I am getting older and about to start off in the new world/chapter, I figured why not get a little book smart so I can at least attempt to be more engaging. As you can already tell, I'm a tad bit timid/sissyish lol.Finished Book: My buddy @AnfernyAttacks suggested SNUFF to me. I just knew a little about the book and from what I heard was completely true. A bit out there, vile & a tad bit sad but all at the same time funny. I gave it 3 Stars on goodreads.com Synopsis
From Chuck Palahniuk, the master of literary mayhem and provocation, a full-frontal Triple X novel that goes where no American work of fiction has gone before.
Current Book: I actually bought The Beautiful Fall : Fashion, Genius, and Glorious Excess in 1970s Paris in April 2009, when I went to California with my BFF Pollock Jakub TRAMBOWICZzzZzz...to visit his sis Justyna for a good month. We got the chance to see the YvesSaintLaurent exhibit at the DeYoung Museum in San Francisco....& it was the most awe inspiring exhibit ever. Epic Proportions. Of course we raided the gift shop and I stumbled upon this book. Finally I get to star it...... Synopsis
"Deliciously dramatic... The Beautiful Fall crackles with excitement."-New York Times Book Review
In the 1970s, Paris fashion exploded like a champagne bottle left out in the sun. Amid sequins and longing, celebrities and aspirants flocked to the heart of chic, and Paris became a hothouse of revelry, intrigue, and searing ambition. At the center of it all were fashion's most beloved luminaries - Yves Saint Laurent, the reclusive enfant terrible, and Karl Lagerfeld, the flamboyant freelancer with a talent for reinvention - and they divided Paris into two fabulous halves. Their enduring rivalry is chronicled in this dazzling exposé of an era: of social ambitions, shared obsessions, and the mesmerizing quest for beauty.
