The World Time Clock is one of the Alexanderplatz's most well-known features. It was constructed in 1969 as part of the square's redevelopment and has become a popular meeting point.

Weighing 16 tonnes and 10 metres tall, it features a revolving cylinder with the world's 24 time zones bearing the names of major cities in each zone. The mechanism constructed in a way which enables the current time in each zone to be read.

The clock is topped by a simplified model of the solar system, which revolves once a minute. You can see Ankara and Istanbul under 12-13 hrs.

Socialist realist propoganda posters are history now and exhibited in museums. But there is still one country which continues using these posters for political purposes and communicating with masses, North Korea. This poster is brand new, probably the most recent Socialist Realist propoganda poster. This one says, '(Let’s make) the Delegates’ Conference a happy occasion shining forever on our Party and the history of the fatherland!' KCNA has released propaganda posters advertising the Delegates’ Conference in September. They're still done with paint and brush and may be with the little help of a computer software. They remind me of Chinese propoganda posters from 70's.
The day has started with a bit of argument but it settled down later on. Good sign. When you sit down and expain things in a calmer manner (not always possible but working on it) you are listened to.
