Those who grew up in Manila during the 1970s, listening to DZRJ-AM radio and attending local rock concerts, remember Petrified Anthem as a popular rock band.

 

The 1970s was a turbulent decade that saw the imposition of Martial Law in the Philippines. To followers of the local music scene, it was also a vibrant, exciting time of change. Bands were becoming more than just providers of dance music for nightclubs and private parties, they were becoming recognized and appreciated for their individual styles, musicianship, and original compositions. Petrified Anthem came into being during that time and left behind a legacy of their own contributions to what became known as Pinoy Rock.

 

Some four decades later, their songs are still heard on Philippine radio and the band is often discussed in Pinoy Rock forums. This website has been created in response to the continuing interest in the band and their music.
