Are you fit enough for alternative M&As?

Digital transformation, green energy and e-mobility illustrate new strategic challenges that many business leaders face today. According to recent market surveys, one of two companies plans for Joint Ventures or Alliances to master these challenges. However, most deal-makers are not fit enough for alternative M&As. That is because, since globalisation in the 1990s, Joint Ventures and Alliances have been primarily used only in a small number of specific industries.

I cannot imagine how tough it could be for students nowadays to decide which career path to take. The scarcity of skilled people is increased by the digitalization of work, and hyperconnectivity makes almost everything at their reach. Nevertheless, the illusion of great opportunities is counterbalanced by the reality of entry level jobs, where hierarchies, culture, and required tasks are not always as expected.

We, Rahul Jain and Prabhash had the opportunity to represent Frankfurt School in the 17th edition of Solvay Business Game in Brussels this month. With over 300 bright-minded students selected from top B-schools world-wide, Solvay Business Game is a two-day event and one of the most prestigious of its kind.

FS students’ participation in A4S International Case Competition (A4SICC)

In September 2023, Frankfurt School Community Management informed the student body about the A4S (Accounting for Sustainability) International Case Competition 2023. Hong Nhung Tran, Tobias Klinkhamels and I, Cloe De Leo, decided to apply. We believed that the A4SICC would allow the three of us to train our skills in sustainability and human rights.

Angesichts meiner beruflichen Laufbahn hätte es nahegelegen, mit einer klassischen Weiterbildung wie dem Bankfachwirt zu beginnen und darauf aufzubauen. In einer Zeit, in der Digitalisierung nahezu alle Bereiche unseres Lebens und Arbeitens prägt, suchte ich genau deswegen nach einer Weiterbildung, die am Puls der Zeit ist.
